1. Last month, I finally got an ad-interim tenure. That means, I'm on probationary status and no longer contractual at work, and that's a step or two away from permanent status.
2. I also got appointed as a special assistant to the office of the university president, so I get to hang out at the admin building more often than not. I have a desk there too. But I still teach, only that, I have only three subjects this semester. So my working life now is more or less focused on meetings, paperwork, meetings, official university business, meetings, committee work, meetings...
3. I had actually started doing my Masters a few sems ago, but I slowed down this time because I had to adjust to my new surroundings.
4. It's going to be the university's 50th birthday on September 1 and we're preparing for the big party. Here's what we did a couple of Sundays ago. We had around 2,000 students in their Phys. Ed. uniforms forming the university's initials and we filmed them while they did that.

Congrats on your ad-interim tenure! Whats field is your Masters in?
@ ren: Master of Arts in Language Studies. No, I am not studying how to speak Martian, haha. It's more on linguistics. I still have 6 subjects to go, plus the comprehensive exam before i get to do my thesis.
